Strawberry Fields is very beautiful in it’s simplicity. A tranquil, meditative spot, it was a great choice for our picnic. We chose a spot and sat for quite a while, eating our snacks, writing, reading and soaking up the sun. It was glorious and so peaceful.
The whole memorial is breathtaking and so peaceful.The people visiting were very respectful – although I know that sadly, is isn’t always the case. As I looked up at President Lincoln’s carved, thoughtful face, I felt a sense of wonder and awe.
I took my time, slowly digesting the events of that day. Although already well aware of what happened, it was like it was actually sinking in for the first time. I think being in the actual building gave it a realness that I had never experienced before.
So there you have it! Our amazing trip to Universal Studios, made all the more special by the unexpected visit the HP World! We really loved our day there, and we were completely knackered when we got back!
Alcatraz is really something else, it’s pretty surreal and a little bit creepy. It was so strange to imagine people actually living there, and to hear real accounts of both the prisoners and the people who worked and lived on the island. It was also fascinating to see all of the wildlife, it’s really quite beautiful.
